Had to. No way we hit .132 for the year.

Tells you a lot about D-Mo’s health.

Wasn’t able to make the game, but happy for the team in getting the win, especially having to come from behind.

I was just repeating what Topham said. I didn’t see the signals get ignored but the guys calling the game made a point to say it on air so...

Doesn’t surprise me though. Anyone with a competitive spirit can only take so much of this crap.

This was a planned play used by the Cajuns a number of times before. Runners on both second and third take off on double steal with a bunt from the batter and the runner from second never breaks stride to home unless the batter fails to execute. Beat Alabama with this a couple years ago.

They showed some throw down today! Let's see if they can bring it two consecutive days.

I didn't see the signals at third, but my perception was that this was a called play all the way through - the double squeeze... beautiful when it works...

But - it didn't go as planned - when Wright State went to the plate to get the first runner instead of going to first to get the sure out. That play on the squeeze was bang - bang and the 2nd runner was not far behind him - already made the turn at 3rd once the ball went to the plate. Fortunately for the Cajuns, what could have turned into and inning ending double play turned into two runs after the ball got away from the catcher.

I HOPE Talbot didn't give any stop signal as the play was already in motion and the runner from 2nd base was already committed (and past Talbot) by the time the throw came to the plate.

IF the runner did ignore Talbot, taking the play into his own hands... thankfully it was successful, but we've got big MUCH BIGGER problems on this team and staff. I don't see Robe making any mid-season coaching moves.

This - a bottle of wine after a 6 pak game limitted me to the shorter explanation.

    Just checked the video...

Ok... my bad... ball actually got away from the pitcher.

Go to Ragin' Cajuns video archives... http://www.ragincajuns.com/watch/?Ar...4&type=Archive

    at 1:57:00

Ball gets away from the pitcher who then comes home too late to get the 2nd runner... Couldn't see and don't know what Talbot's signals were. Still not sure if he would have had time to put up the stop sign...

Regardless... I HOPE it wasn't a situation where a player is taking a situation into their own hands. That would be most concerning - on multiple fronts.
