This is kinda ridiculous. I don’t care who commits when they are freshman or sophomores. I wanna know who commits when they are able to sign a LOI.

Not a hit on the kid, she’s legit. But we are talking about someone who won’t be on campus this decade.

Economical way to spread brand awareness across the country.

The hardest athlete to recruit is a stud senior who has never heard your name.

I understand and agree. But this is literally how recruiting is done across the softball world. Mike Lotief did this too, but asked recruits to keep it quiet. If you're contacting juniors, most of them have already committed and you're about 2 years too late.

Concur. Stud pitcher here in New Braunfels. Senior now, but has been committed to Oklahoma for past 3 years. Nature of the beast these days.

If this is how it needs to be done now, then so be it. Sign em up while they're still in diapers!

So what happens when a child grows up a little and changes her mind. Of course we honor that, but don't programs get to do the same?

Some coaches, including Glasco, are loud and vocal about wanting it changed so you can't contact kids until they're juniors.

There is no true commit until the paperwork is signed.

Multiple people on this subject say coaches honor the early commitments. I find this hard to believe.
