Default Cajuns Defeat Florida on Walk Off Homer

Chaumont hits 2 run walk off homer in bottom of 11th to defeat Florida 4-3. WOW. Great win especially after losing double header yesterday.

When was the last time (if ever) a Cajun Softball team has defeated the #1 or #2 ranked team in the country.

I seem to recall Brignac doing so.

Well, we did it with Summer from TC, right here in Lafayette, La. What another great outing for this girl.

Beat Florida in the WCWS in 08. They were the # 1 seed.

Beat Alabama in 2011 when they were #1. It was a 1-0 game.

This was a huge win for Glasco and the team. They faught their butts off. Plus, you think that win will bring some of those back that said they won’t support UL softball? Or at least turn the heads of the ones that said we’ll never be any good again. Oh, they’ll be fine. They just beat #2 Florida.

2008 was Florida's first WCWS appearance. Beat them 3-2 with Brignac pitching. In the 8th inning, after reaching a 3-2 count she threw 21 straight pitches to that batter before retiring her. If I remember correctly that batter was a freshman. That was clutch.

We beat a heck of a pitcher that day too. Stacey Nelson was one of the best if not the best that year. In her career, she had a sub 1.00 era. She wasn’t bad to look at, either.

The past is the past and only now and the future matters. Glasco and the our Softball warriors did a good job showing what they made of. Great job ladies!!!! We respect the fight ya ll showed.

I already went back and watched because I walked out the room right before it happened and missed it.
