The first weekend of the season sucks for hitting. At least it seems like it historically does for us. Facing a great pitcher in the first game doesn’t help.

This guy is going to go the distance, throw in his church league tournament tomorrow, and still go 4 innings on Sunday.

sure, but then it turns in to "that guy was just on today" and "we hit them hard, just right at them" and before you know it, its conference tournament and we're hitting .245 as a team.

Let’s face it. Our hitting has sucked the last 3 years. This has nothing to do with opening weekend

Its our approach under talbot, always been trash. There is no difference from pitch to pitch or hitter to hitter. Either timid and weak, or aggressive balls to the wall. After a pitch, the pitcher can figure out how to throw to our hitters. They swing at pitch 1, throw trash outta the zone all inning, if no swing, attack the zone because we will k looking. Been this way under talbot for years.
