Better hoops and better perception are the only reason CUSA might be a desirable move.

As of today, MTSU, WKU and ODU are all top 100 RPI, and Marshall is 102.
UTSA, UAB, UNT and LTUR are all top 200.

    We are top 100.
GaSt, GaSo and UTA are top 200.

It should be pretty obvious which conference is better.

That being said, CUSA is a high major conference only because of teams that are no longer there. Louisville, Cincinnati, Memphis, Marquette, etc.

No matter how much truth you have on your side, ancient perception is hard to counter.

Middle has parlayed themselves to #24th in CUSA. But CUSA 2018 is G5 mid major basketball conferences.

The truth, whether we like it is not, is that in basketball, CUSA has a more desirable group of teams than the Sun Belt. And it ain't close.

CUSA is more desirable on name alone.

Which works both ways...which was my whole point. Embracing being a mid major will be hard to shed when the time comes

If you are a perennial #1 or #2 the perception will be that you don't belong and are worthy of breaking the glass ceiling.

If you are perennial 1 or 2 in the little bitty poll, you are probably a perennial top 40 program in the Big Poll, and THAT is what you should be promoting like crazy.

Every time I hear our people belittle the Top 40 RPI or being ranked in the Also receiving votes list for the major polls, I want to vomit.

You think the AAC will give a flying f what our mid-major polling looks like? They will look at attendance, tourney wins, RPI average, etc., etc.

I would be shocked if anyone argued with this stance.

Of course this is the route but you don't just teleport in, you build along the way.
