Thread: MBB Final: Louisiana 100, UT Arlington 79

  1. Default Re: MBB Final: Louisiana 100, UT Arlington 79

Does anyone know the full list of former players playing professional basketball.

    I know the following:

    Elfrid Payton--NBA
    Shawn Long--NBA G League
    Jay Wright--NBA G League
    Bryant Mambalu--Overseas, I think

Any other players playing overseas or in South America currently?

I also know that Kevin Brooks is an assistant or head coach in Australia.

Their actions clearly show their opinion of it. If the only opinions that matter here are what the coaches think then what’s the point of a message board? IMO it’s short sighted and buying into exactly what they want. If there is one thing I think should stay here from Michael Lotief is the thought “don’t let them label or define you” He never let that “mid-major” crap fly. It’s small time thinking. Once you accept it will be near impossible to shed it.

Looks like Travis Bureau and Lamar Roberson are both still active in Europe. I see that Tiras Wade was playing in Japan as recently as last year, not sure about now.
As far as guys that transfered Elijah Millsap is in the G-League, Gradnigo is playing in Brazil, and Kadeem Colbey is playing in Japan.
I knew Millsap was in the G-League but the rest of this I learned with google in the last 10 Minutes.

I did not mean to insinuate your opinion should not be shared as you are correct in that is one of the main purposes of a message board. We should never be afraid to state our opinion and just because I agree with them in this case does not mean I agree with every decision. For example, I think we should play only one non D1 game and an additional road money game. However, we must recognize that whatever opinions one or two share here is unlikely to change the decision of the people responsible for making them. There are exceptions of course. That occurs when there is overwhelming consensus and money starts to get into it. The change in FB coaches being an example. Those are rare however.

You are correct, I just thought about Kasey and had looked him up too.
Kevin Brown is in Kosovo as well.

I know Kasey was hoping to play beyond his collegiate years. I think that a few of this year's seniors have an opportunity to play overseas, Frank Bartley in particular. Our coaches do have contacts in the international game which can help place people. They use that fact in recruiting.

Or it only takes one person to share a good idea and causes someone to look at something with a different perspective. This mid major poll is a wolf in sheeps clothing. Looks good on the surface but isn’t big picture. It’s just my opinion, but it’s like being proud to be the fastest fat kid...and in this case, the second fastest fat kid.

The two are not mutually exclusive.

If you are first or second in the mid-major polls, the other polls will take note and you will get votes.

As far as recruiting we are looking at opposite scenarios. I'm talking about the late bloomer.
