Freshmen steal show in Glasco's debut

For the most part, the first game of the Gerry Glasco era went exactly as he had planned … except he never imagined he’d be breathing so hard at the end.

After giving up a run in the top of the first inning, Glasco’s No. 22-ranked UL Ragin’ Cajuns bounced back in style with seven unanswered runs for a 7-1 win over Samford to kick off the Mardi Gras Classic at Lamson Park on Thursday.

I just saw the replay on Cajuns’ Digital Network of him rounding the bases. Hard not to get a misty in the eyes. The man is living a dream of being HC of a college D-1 softball team. And the best mid-major IMHO. Great for Coach Glasceaux. Geaux get win #2.
