Its truly amazing how many stat categories we lead the belt in. We lead in just about all major offensive categories and several defensive as well.
For those too lazy to look (like I usually am), here's the rankings.
Scoring (1)
Rebounds (3) tied with UTA
Field-goal % (1)
Free-throw % (1)
3 point % (2)
Assists (1)
Steals (1)
Blocks (5) which kinda surprised me with Gant the human fly swater on the floor
What’s really interesting is how few categories GSU is in the top two, or even three. Still they leading in blocked shots by almost two over us.
Very impressive, although I am surprised we don't lead in rebounding.
We don't lead in rebounding but we do lead in rebounding margin and are #11 in the country in that stat

Biggest improvements IMO are a blend assists and 3 pt % coupled with our overall defense. If you are going to a more high tempo, perimeter based offense its kind of important to be able to hit shots consistently and we're doing that so much more this year. We are also allowing drastically reduced shooting percentages on both regular field goal percentage and 3 pt %. Rebounding is fairly similar number wise as we are averaging 1 more this year than we did last year but our margin is much more. That tells me our defense is giving up less offensive rebounds coupled with us getting more on our end.
