The fact of the matter is that the "hitters" in the 1B and DH holes need to be producing (hitting above .300, slugging in the .500 - .550 range and OB in the .400 - .450 range) and for all practical purposes we have gotten little from each spot. This is a kid that was hoped to be one in those positions.
Good point on 1B and DH. I would add 3B to the problem list. No offensive production. Worst in years.

Windham seems like he may be getting it together

I agree with experience Windham will keep improving offensively overall. He is really good defensively already.

From the people I have talked to, I have not gotten any indication that Todd Lott doesn't care. He has a more quiet and laid back personality. Teams are always made up of different personalities. You can't have 35 Jace Conrads because they will all end up in the hospital at some point from fighting each other. It would be completely dysfunctional.

It's great to have guys like Lahare who provide a lot of energy and emotion. But you need guys like Joe Robbins, Kasuls, and Joe Burk who can keep calm and cool to balance things out in my opinion.

I think so too. They will continue to improve. The universally slow start at the plate was (past tense) historic. They have raised BA 40 points in the past 10 days. Similar improvement will take three weeks at the same rate., and that's only another dozen games, or half way through the season.

They have some nice wins, Vandy, LSU, but I think this team's best days are looking out over the hood.

Why have we not seen Haden Erbe or Jacob Norman this year?

Why pull Marco Ramos in the 6th inning Sunday when he was playing well defensively and one of your most productive players at the plate?

Was there any hesitation on bunting Kennon in the first few innings with runners on base and less than 2 outs? Very highly discussed topic Sunday.

We’ve seen a lot of “self inflicted wounds” over the last 2 years. Feels like many more than previous teams. What is your opinion on that?

Nick Lee looks really good 90% of the time he’s on the mound. Why does he seem to lose it mentally, at least once every start? Is it a concern going forward?

Did the staff think something was going on with Ga Southern’s mound? Several HBP and walks. Pitchers looked uncomfortable.

What do Bab and JT make of the high number of swing and misses on fastballs? Considering our offense is predicated on hunting the fastball, we seem to struggle with average velocity fastballs.

Is Kennon a long term solution at 1st base, or are we just buying time for Loch or Stover to start hitting?

How is the health of the team?

Is Cole McKinnon holding up well, from an energy and health standpoint?

I believe Erbe redshirted this year.

Correct. Pretty sure he's not on the 35, though you can't tell by looking at the official roster on the website. The program at the Tigue shows the final roster though.

Also, the GS bullpen mound was high enough to warrant flashing red lights so airplanes don't run into it per Robe. He also said that is not an excuse but can take some time to adjust to the field mound.

Hey Bill—It’s Jay! Sorry I missed Guys Night Out—fell on a REALLY bad night for me.

Even taking into consideration the absence of Monica, can Bab comment on the team’s hitting woes—particularly their propensity to strike out. Any feeling that JT needs to change his philosophy or approach??
    Thanks, Brudda!!
