    Default Recruiting to Pot

Let’s not leave out a certain recreation that is legal in Colorado. I promise you that is a recruiting advantage.

Oddly, CSU athletics has marijuana on their list of prohibited substances. And they do kick people off the football team caught in mandatory drug tests.

They have to follow the rules like everybody else but that doesn’t stop players from smoking. They know the ways around drug test. I would imagine being able to walk in a store and legally purchase it would be enticing to college kids who smoke.

Not to mention Colorado is beautiful. Gotta admit, I might have chosen Fort Collins as well.

Not to this parent.....My son is being recruited in baseball by schools across multiple time zones. I put CO firmly on my parent veto list for the same reason. Lot of choices, offers to consider and CO/CA schools wont be one of them.

Yep, still outlawed by the NCAA as a "recreational" drug. But on the other hand Fort Collins is still the gateway to the Rocky Mountain High Park. Beautiful city.

So keeping him out of California and Colorado will prevent him from smoking weed? Got it. Hate to break it you but if your son wants to choose to smoke weed, he will do it anywhere.

I don't speak for Policarp but I think his point is since Colorado allows it to be sold like a common fruit stand, he doesn't want his son going to college. There are two types of access, legal and illegal.

Don't disagree, and they along with a few other G5 programs, fall into "low-level P5" range. I believe Houston, Colorado State and Memphis will be our most heated recruiting rivals in the G5 space, for the next 2-4 years.

I get what he is saying but it’s not like it’s hard to find anywhere in this country...especially on a college campus. Consumption of alcohol under the age of 21 is illegal too but that doesn’t stop college kids from doing it. It’s like a common fruit stand everywhere, just one you get in trouble for shopping at and one you don’t.

Pot being legal in Colorado is not an advantage.. Pretty dumb to suggest TBH.

    Fort Collins > Lafayette
    MWC > SBC

    That’s it. Period.
