These are the likely options. The first person listed is the likely initial starter.
Wouldn't you consider Summer Ellyson and Allison Deville among the pitchers?

I don't know, but could it be that he has attended scrimmages and they haven't performed well? Usually Terry has a good grasp on the UL softball program and attends practices.

I will say this, hopefully they can coach some of those kids up because there is no headliner right now in that group.

I’m missing all of my Cajun Sports this year. With the earthquake, tsunami warnings, and 6” of snow I have gotten the real Alaska experience this week.

Looking forward to visiting Lafayette for Mardi Gras and catching some games.

Alissa Dalton? Or were you referencing pitchers only?

Only pitchers. There could be enough offense in this current lineup if a few kids grow up fast.

Summer and Alison have a (remote) chance of getting ahead of Kylee if she hasn't mastered her control issues. Casey, Kirsten and Makenzie have more pitches than Summer and Alison. Coach Reed has had the same amount of time to work with all 8 pitchers; at the moment, I'm thinking the 4 I listed are the most likely options to start the season.

Thanks for the compliment. Softball is the only team I have been able to stay invested in, so I try to keep track of what's happening with them.

Casey Dixon is likely to be this season's ace. She has 4 pitches and 2 out pitches. She is already at Kylee's level if Kylee has beaten her control problems.

Will we still be seeing the split grip and the long ball hitters?

Since the split was mostly used by slappers, I think you'll still see it occasionally still, but Coach Glasco has the same philosophy as Mike with respect to teaching hitters for power.

Dixon and Kirsten Pruett were my picks based solely upon their accomplishments in travel ball and Texas HS softball. But I have not seen a single practice or scrimmage.
