Thread: Need some Cajun wisdom ( Eat Acadiana )

Default Need some Cajun wisdom ( Eat Acadiana )

Question 1. Wife has heard some things about some local Lafayette area dining establishments to add to our usual haunts . How would you rate Little Big Cup, Dwights, Fezzos, Lagneauxs, Dragos , Steamboat house, La Cafe and Cajun brewing?
    2. Thinking about heading over for games on Thursday and Saturday. Are the Mississippi River Road plantations worth the drive? Is there a good golf course to hit over by there? Would like to base out of Lafayette so don't want to have too much of a crazy drive.

Thanks in advance for all the insights .

Fezzos is terrible. But at least it's over priced

To each his own on Fezzo's. I've eaten at both locations 15-20 times and never had a bad meal.

Dupuy's in Abbeville is definitely better than all listed.

Y’all got a Drago in Lafayette? Fat City Drago is awesome.

Food, been to all but Dragos. Can't go wrong. Just got Dragos, on cursed corner Johnston and Doucet. Hope they make it, every restaurant that has opened there has crashed. Dragos is the 4th at least.

Plantations are worth the drive only if it's your thing. I 10 is a construction nightmare east of here. If you're headed to plantations, I'd go 10 E and hit LA 77, Grose Tete, south to Plaqumine. Beautiful twisty road thru the woods (my type of road). Skip all the BR backup. Can take ferry across river @ Plaqumine. Next bridge south is the Sunshine Bridge if I remember correctly.

If I recall correctly (and I could be wrong), Dragos offered to pay more rent for that location. If true, Mellow Mushroom was kind of forced out.

Little Big Cup's food is average. It's a cool place though
