Just because some could not make it dont mean its not being supported. I have a 10 year old which gets up early for school. I would have loved to have been there. THe reason i wasn't there last night is the same for week day baseball games during school year. ANother reason is I know several cajun fans who just don't like basketball period. Any basketball, period. Lets don't jump off a bridge thinking everyone does not care about our team. Interest is gaining and people are becoming aware.

Are the suites above the student section being used? If not, what are they used for?

I have seen folks in them in the past year so my assumption is some are still leased.

In the 70’s Lafayette population was about a third of today, we had about 10K students. Regardless we regularly had 7-9K in Blackham. Just guessing basketball isn’t as popular, games much higher in cost to attend even in inflated dollars. In other words much more family friendly. And finally three networks for entertainment, no Atari, game boy, X Box and such.

Not sure if you are referring to early or late 70s.

Early 70s was built on sustained winning.

Late 70s interest was built on recapturing the early 70s but with with winning as well.

    Sustained winning is the key.

Late sixties, very early seventies. Both of which I’m apparently approaching. 😋😋

Absolutely, recognition, excitement of more than the dedicated fan will come if and only if the winning is consistent over a period of time. Not just a blip on someones radar. It just takes time. It hasn't been long enough.

Someone please send this Maggard, Greg Davis or whoever runs the concessions at the dome....
Dr. Maggard said at the Rebounders Club meeting last week that he does not control CajunDome concession pricing.

  9. UL Basketball Re: Student section

Maybe he should invite a Cajun Dome big shot to explain ridiculous pricing for families. They're repressing their revenue streams. Many more would come, and spend much more for about the same costs.

John Schwagman understood this building a grocery empire

    This we knew.

I question why a school with a degree in Hospitality Management doesn't run its own concessions. Especially in the buildings it owns.

    Good point.

Jeff Bezos didn't become the richest businessman in the world by charging the most he could. Quite the opposite

UL doesn’t own the dome. I’m sure they’ll be a push to build something smaller where Blackham is in a decade or so. Wrap it into some other infrastructure, like Tiger Stadium or Ryan Street High’s new gym.....errrrr complex.
