You must be the guy that never gets invited to parties because dogs don't like fleas

The last couple of years on this site as it relates to the football program in particular, and the athletic department and other programs in general, have been a real drag. Suddenly though, Robe has his new house, Looney Loteif is history, Scott Farmer is about as far away from here as he can be yet still be in the state next door, Hud has taken his show elsewhere, the new AD and our university president have spoken loudly and clearly with ACTIONS that they're serious about this athletic department by hiring a P5 offensive coordinator with name recognition and a strong resume and then given him the tools ($$$$$) to go out and put together a top-knotch staff that will get us where we want to be.

I'm ready for some freakin' excitment, not picking at warts.
I am also ready for excitement. Living out of town probably doesn't allow me to feel the energy behind the hire. Most people I talk to here think we are still a low level FBS program with a fancy new building and and a high priced coach. In truth it is hard to argue against them, especially when we are so low in the pecking order for talent in the Metro NOLA area.

Anyway, I let you guys get all excited about football. I will probably keep my thoughts to myself and enjoy our basketball and baseball teams.

Do you always allow the uniformed around you to determine your own thoughts?

We know the challenges we face...without you rehashing them at every opportunity. The university has made a change. By all appearances we are heading in the right direction. NOTHING is served by continuing to harp on the failures of the past. There will be plenty of time to cast judgment on the success of our new direction...before it has a chance to start ain't that time.

Your last sentence seems like a reasonable approach.

Wow. This may have been the first of your posts that I can say I agree with any part.

Guys I talk to are pretty informed. I wave the UL flag more than you will ever know, but talking up our football program is a tall order. Btw, this same group of people rave about our baseball team, so this is not an anti-UL bias. It’s an anti-UL football bias.

Not as relentless as MAT. I only have 3.3k post in 13 years. MAT will post that much in a month if someone dares to challenge him on a topic.
Duty calls, so I leave y’all to carry the water on this thread. May check back in later tonight so don’t slam me too hard.
