Hudspeth recruited prototypical OL and they were slow and overweight by year two. I’d take a 6’4”-6’5” 265-275 pound OL with great feet over a 315 lard ___ anyday.
Nape could rake in top 100 players for years to come and Menopause Metry would say it wasn’t legit...

Any proof of this? Have we ever gotten a top 500 player that I didn't like? How often have we gotten a top 500 player? Sorry if I take the long view on this program. 6 months ago you were way more pessimistic than me on the football team. Were you menopausal then? You think we are coach away from relevance. I don't. This hire is the first of probably 10 dominos that need to break our way before we are even a top 60 team in FBS football. Nothing wrong with you being excited, but I'm probably going to pump the brakes when I see us landing 0 star recruits with 0 FCS offers. And one more time... I am not bashing the signing. Just bringing up that this is the type of player we have been going after for 20+ years. Now if Napier can bring in more P5 transfers and established JC guys...this strategy will have a better chance of working.

Yea but the difference is, I know what I’m looking at. I also have the privilege of speaking to coaches that know what they’re looking at as well.

We’re going after quality football players.

I stand corrected. I didn’t realize you saw the kid play. When you looked at Mitchell what was he better at, run blocking or pass blocking? Also, in talking to the staff do they project him as a guard or tackle in our system?

Cox was massive. Def wasn’t a project. So was Newman.

He is a Tackel who excells at run blocking.. he is quick very quick if he has the same quickness with 30+ lb would make one hell of a guard

He has a valid point. I understand we are behind the game this year and it has hurt recruiting, but going forward the key will be getting top notch talent and diamonds in the rough should be the exception.

This is not a diamond in the rough he has great technique and hight just needs to get into college S&C program.. not a year 1 starter but we dont need him to be

You did read that he's grown a couple inches, didn't attend camps. Late bloomer with few camps isn’t getting rated. I'm trusting our staff.

I trusted the Hud staff until they started failing too often.

Also Hud was known to blame the SBC for some of his recruiting battle loses. If Billy starts alibiing I'll quit trusting him too.

    Until then
    Billy, Billy.
