Those beer cups could hold no more than 10 oz. and for 6 bucks I can see a lot of people having a few outside before the game.

Great point. This is not like a 9 dollar dome foam, people have choices. At 6 bucks people will just go to their cooler and miss a half inning.

Why is a beer $8 at a UL athletic even, but the Icegators charge a dollar? Marketing???? The icegators give 4 dogs, 4 drinks, and 4 tickets for $44. Why can't UL patrons get the same prices at the Dome, the Tigue, or at the softball park?

why does it always seem like we have these hiccups for the first game of every season in every sport that are so easy to prevent? Like the beer for the first football game, the roof of the dugout last baseball season, the beer this season. I know I know "we have much larger problems than beer" but its the little things that make the overall experience.

And I know the big story is the turf but as fans we aren't on the turf, we are in the stands, bathrooms, beer stands, and burger stands. Its just a lack of preparation that we always seem to be missing.

I think a big part of the problem is that the Robe plays way too big a part in everything from seeing the problem to fixing the problem. It seems like the administration depends too much on the coaches and teams to get the little things done. I don't know if it's the event management team, but if this is the case, they need to be held accountable. The coaches and teams need to be worried about the games and only the games, not the roof of the dugouts or the size of the beers.

Robichaux and staff had nothing to do with the decisions on the beer or event management. The buck stops with Scott Farmer, as per him last night. Feel free to come by in the stands and talk to him. The guy is always willing to listen, he can explain the decisions made.

I know the guy who used to do the fried shrimp and sno-balls. When the concessions switched over from the Cajundome to Sodexho, Sodexho increased the cut they get from outside vendors, and it was not worth it to the sno-ball man. I believe he said it went from 30% under the Cajundome run to 40% under Sodexho. After you factor in food cost and labor cost, it doesn't leave a lot of room for profit. The prices are rediculous, but you have two choices: buy it or don't buy it. Robe does not control the prices. That is up to Sodexho. UL gets a certain % of the sales, so in order for Sodexho to make money they think they have to raise costs. If they lowered prices, they would sell more, and in turn make just as much money.

Thanks for clearing it up. Everything I heard in the past seemed like they depended on the coaches doing it all. I know Farner is very accessible to the fans. I see him all over the place talking to people.

As far as concessions, my cousins is high up with one of Sodexo's competitors. They have been trying for years to get the UL contract. He always says they don't get it because they cost more. However, there service and product are much better. I say that from first hand experience from visiting stadiums they service.

I would express those comments to him, perhaps its time to review such contracts.

On Saturday's game the beer cups appeared to be a little bigger. A friend took one home and he said it held 16 0z.

just curious why do we have the catering company doing all UL events again? It seems like since they have taken over the duties everything is overly priced and lower quality. Nachos = a cup of cheese and a bag of chips. Beer = 12 oz or 16 oz cup should be 24 all $6. Slice of pizza and a Gatorade = $9! It seems since they have taken over I've seen more and more people go to concessions only to look at the prices in amazement and turn around empty handed and tell their kids to wait till after the game.
