So, is this the same Baker that people were trashing when it came out that he was being considered?

Re: 2017 Coaching Carousel
Hopefully he goes. We can do so much better. I'm guessing Skip doesn't try & counter. Would be an easy way for Skip to upgrade w/o firing him. I predict if he goes & we don't screw up the hire that we will be better on defense next year.
I had no idea who any of techs assistants were until there was talk of us hiring one.... because I didn't go there and unless we are playing them never give them a second thought. Anybody who takes time out of their day to come to our board to talk ____ about assistant coaches is a special kind of loser.
Starting with Steve Spinella in the early 1980's was our 1st Division 1a All American.....Theron Harrison, Rudy Pennimon, William Sims, Clifford Champ, Dwayne Fontenette, Patrice Alexander, Charles Poole.....a couple of Linebackers who weren't as athletic but were fine players were Randy Guidry in the late 1980's and in the 1990's Pat Brennan.......I would definitely put Otha Peters and Lightfoot in that group....in my opinion the best "group" were in 1990 when we ran double eagle....outside backers Clifford Champ and Dwayne Fontenette....Inside backers William Sims and Rudy Pennimon...shame that Sims played hurt all year, Rudy tore his ACL and Clifford broke his arm....all 4 signed pro contracts..
It is hard to compare eras, but I think the guys playing LB in the late 80’s, early 90’s were better. I do think Peters was as good as the older guys. My favorite was Sims. He made a few plays during his career that were jaw dropping.
