I for one am a bit leery of our city marshall overlords.

If education is not emphasized at home, I would think only kids that are highly self motivated on their own would succeed consistently in the class room.
Kids don't get to select what situation they get brought up in. If only they had bootstraps for newborns.

We got one living near us. Set up live radar in our neighborhood, electronic radar trailer, live cop watching for people running stop signs (caught one), tried to get speed bumps. 25 mph neighborhood, can’t honestly say I’ve ever seen anyone speeding thru here. Neighborhood with multiple cul-de-sacs. Didn’t meet even half the volume criteria for bumps, your tax dollars at work.

Issue was his kids played in the street. Not a major road at all, so used taxpayers instead of telling his kids to get out the street. Bad part is, he’s actually a nice guy.

How can we expect our kids to learn to compete in life when their principals and their own teachers are not willing to compete? There are no longer any State Champions in Louisiana High School sports. There are only champions of classes (and there are way too many of those)!!!

TCH has an enrollment of 782 for 17-18...Comeaux 1,934. Of course college prep is going to be watered down when you have to nearly triple enrollment, also more kids, more discipline issues.

My point still is...unless you are sending your child to a private school out of NECESSITY...the money is not worth it. I could send my child to Fatima, but then I would be spending out of the nose for something I could get for living in the Woodvale District.
What if you had not participated in the white flight from the northside? Then would you be sending your kids to a private school?

To be classified as "white flight", I'd have to have owned property on the Northside. I never have. My parent's still live there. So...there goes that. How old is this damn thread?

    Green flight is more appropriate.

Louisiana has secured its ranking at 51 among the states and the District of Columbia and we are happy to be there. Everyone else should keep their nose out of it..........errrrrr right?
