How can we expect our kids to learn to compete in life when their principals and their own teachers are not willing to compete? There are no longer any State Champions in Louisiana High School sports. There are only champions of classes (and there are way too many of those)!!!

It's the same thing I said about comparing football recruits to baseball recruits. You are going to get students in a better situation period at private schools...you would expect them to have less discipline issues. Then size difference between Public and Private. TCH has an enrollment of 782 for 17-18...Comeaux 1,934. Of course college prep is going to be watered down when you have to nearly triple enrollment, also more kids, more discipline issues.

My point still is...unless you are sending your child to a private school out of NECESSITY...the money is not worth it. I could send my child to Fatima, but then I would be spending out of the nose for something I could get for living in the Woodvale District.

To be classified as "white flight", I'd have to have owned property on the Northside. I never have. My parent's still live there. So...there goes that. How old is this damn thread?

Louisiana has secured its ranking at 51 among the states and the District of Columbia and we are happy to be there. Everyone else should keep their nose out of it..........errrrrr right?

Well the federal government has never had anything to do with Common Core. It was adopted by individual states. Soooo... DeVos ended a federal program that never existed.

I'm very much in favor of DeVos's push to expand school choice, but man does she say and think some boneheaded things. School curriculum should be crafted by educational experts, not politicians blinded by ideology. We owe that to our kids.
