He looks like he would be stronger. I'm thinking with a pro S&C coach those numbers will skyrocket.

JMO seems like we are slicing and dicing this kid. If we trust this coaching staff then this kid is a great get. Looks pretty athletic on film, a Louisiana kid and a coaches son. We have 0 early signing. We are not a P5 we will have to develop players until we can change the perception of who we are, none of us are getting paid to decide who get a chance to receive a UL scholarship. This kid may be a model citizen and a Cajun great one day who knows but Napier trust him enough to offer him a scholarship so I'm on board now just sign on the dotted line on National Signing Day.

Being that we do not know what type of defensive system we will run, we have no clue what the plans would be for this kid.

Remember, no one but Coach Stokley thought Brian Mitchell was good enough to play QB either. He turned out to be fairly good!!!!

Remember, Mitchell was one of the greatest athletes to ever step foot on this campus and was desired by many large programs. There is no comparison. That said, I hope we found a good one.

These RBs are still very much the exception, rather than the rule. I could only find two in the last 2 years that were 230+ & ran in the 4.5s, at the NFL combine. Leonard Fournette and Derrick Henry. I would suspect Saquan Barkley will do it this season.

The numbers grow to around 7 if you drop to 220 lbs.

I agree MLBs need to be stout, but OLBs can go either way depending on scheme.

It sounds to me like Cordova is also being recruited as a good athlete. If I recall, USL was the only school that agreed to allow Mitchell to have a shot at playing QB, the others thought he should be a DB. Although not exactly the same situation (I am not putting Cordova in the same category as Mitchell), until we see how this Coaching staff wants to use Cordova, I do think there are some similarities.

The kid is a football player. Give me a team with borderline measurables if they are all football players instead of just athletes.

Same can be said for QB. I want a Pro Style QB who can move in the pocket. Not some athlete playing QB.

All that said, I just want football players. And this guy seems like that. Add in a "coaches kid" which makes you think he can take instruction and get better I am excited about this pickup. Who cares what he can bench if he can't play football. We had a bunch of weightroom studs/gridiron duds the last few years, including at HC.

Brian was recruited and offered as a QB by Arkansas. They ran the wishbone at the time. LSU offered as a DB....

I'm fairly certain Coach Napier is going to get the best that he can, which will be better than what we've gotten before on most years.

This class is going to be a little scattered due to the early signing period, but it will be very good.

Our recruiting was broken. Give the man a chance to fix it.
