This team is made up of stone cold killers. Nothing rattles them. Down 14 early? Meh, just keep on keeping on. Nobody freaks out. We don't suddenly try to be something we are not. We just make adjustments and eventually grind your bones to make our bread. We turned down 12 to up 12 like it was easy. This is a special team.

If a passenger mentions an icy patch on the roadway ahead, it is not downplaying their expectations of getting to the destination.

Agreed. It was a slow methodical grind. Our players are at the point where the disgust of a single loss motivates them. I think it pushes them harder on defense.

Several times last night I started to comment "Why is Stove getting so many minutes?" At times, he seemed like just a warm body on offense. But then, he'd make a huge defensive play...get in someone's face, force a turnover, scrap for a loose ball on the floor, etc. I then found myself foscusing on his defensive effort. It was intense.

I also mentioned that the good teams are able to overcome that and assert their will especially in the second half and we did that. Bye.
Away v Home matters. Part of that is how far you travel and how you travel. Getting 3 or 4 fouls early on a valuable player matters. It all matters.

Good teams and well coached teams determine how much each item of adversity ends up affecting the game and the team.

Good teams stick to the process and minimize the effects of each item of adversity. What you saw last night was a good team and a good coaching staff play a team with reasonable talent and keep to the process. They overcome. They are winners!!!!!!

This team is legit.....reminds me of the NIT final 4 team in the early 19 80's in that they can play half court or run...not comparing personnel, just style of play..also they are an absolute beast on defense......tremendous adjustments at half by Coach Marlin.

The biggest thing they had to overcome was this was this biggest test since dec 22 playing Clemson, they haven’t been tested by anyone in almost 30 days.

I just wish stroman would cut down the turnovers and attack the rim more.

Agree about Stove's defense. He was guarding Harvey after he went on that tear to start the game.

That 04-05 team had the best starting 5 I remember. (I don't date back to the Blackham days) Greene, Mitchell, and Hamilton were all fringe NBA players and Tiras Wade was still the best player on that team. I think Cameron ended up playing professionally in Australia as well. You put them on the floor with this year's team you probably see a game similar to last night where they jump up big early. The problem was that team had no bench. I think the current team would wear them down, get one or 2 in foul trouble, and pull away late much like last night.

The team had too many turnovers last night.
A couple of 7 footers in the middle makes the drive to the cup a bit more challenging!

Having a guy like Stove is very valuable. He can guard positions 1 through 4. Not many guys can do that.
