The 38 yard mistake (Aikman's own words) on the 2nd BS PI call on Crawley.
Brees noodle armed and missed a wide open Ginn for a TD.
Sneed missed a wide open Kamara for a TD.
Sean Payton throwing away 2 Time Outs on challenges. If we had just one of those, we go in for a TD at the end and end the game.
Good try but nah they overcame all those things to put themselves in position to win than game. The only thing i'd accept is Dennis Allen not putting pressure on Keenum on that last play.
So you are saying Sean would have run a play on 4th down if he had a timeout instead of kicking FG for the lead?Sean Payton throwing away 2 Time Outs on challenges. If we had just one of those, we go in for a TD at the end and end the game.
What about rushing four d linemen on the last play?
How about rush three and put one man deep on the last play?
And what exactly was 25 doing?
No. His play calling would have been a lot different if he had 1 or 2 more timeouts. I guarantee you that if we had 2 or 3 timeouts left, Payton would have gone into that last drive thinking TD and ball game.
So many things happened before that last play that should not have happened. If any of the 4 I listed had not happened, we win and Williams is never put in a position like he was.
Payton has always sucked at challenges. He clearly missed an opportunity in the first half to challenge the spot of the ball on a Vikings fourth down conversion. I know the Vikings scored on that drive but I can't recall if it was a TD or FG.
The biggest gripe I have about the last play is why didn't we have safety or CB playing deep center field on the Saints 5 yard line.
Maybe this loss puts a fire in Brees and he resigns for a salary that allows the team a little extra spending cash for free agency. The Saints are one good DE from winning another Super Bowl.
I saw where the Saint's video feed in the booth was out the entire game. Reason why no challenge on the spot in the first half, and Payton said he had to challenge on a gut feeling in the second half. How is that possible in a brand new, state of the art facility?
