This is a different kind of basketball team. I hope they can keep it up.
The Cajuns only made 11 2 pt. field goals in the game...22 points.
They made 10 3 pt. field goals for 30 points.
They made 29 free throws for 29 points.
That is an unusual box score.
If this team keeps getting to the free throw line and they keep hitting 80+%
they should win a lot of ball games.

We’re going to the basket instead of settling for jump shots. We’re winning the inside battle. We’re playing to our strengths. Marlin teams have never been especially good at a structured two point offense. And I’m damned fine with playing to your strengths.

Our biggest strength (sometime to a fault) is the unselfishness of this team. They share the ball as well as any Cajun team I've watched since the early 70's.

Agreed, but to a fault to few times to matter. We’re still gonna have long periods where our offense isn’t scoring the traditional way. Glad to see all the steaks, and free throws.

Saturday was an example of this situation. Hit lots of threes in first half and Coastal took that away in 2nd half. As a result we drove it to the goal and got fouled. Buried them at the line. The fact we did not hit too many baskets in the 2nd half is not a big concern due to the fact our guys were able to get to the basket and Coastal had no choice but to foul us. Our guys are making them pay for doing that these days. Also, nice to see the Cajuns up high in so many national statistics. Wonder we are in rebounding as that has been a strong point in recent games.

Our domination of the boards against Coastal through the first half and the first 10 minutes of the second is what got us the big lead, in my opinion.

I think you're right. Interesting stat: In the last two games, the Cajuns have given up a total of ONE offensive rebound in the first half of the games.

And you wonder why games are so lopsided at halftime.

It was especially impressive against CCU who is a good rebounding team.
