Any kid who doesn't want to be a part of what's coming for this program is likely convinced he won't be seeing the field, anytime soon, or perhaps ever. I hold nothing against them, just wish they'd give this coaching staff a chance to show them how a professional program is run and perhaps even a chance for they themselves to be coached up to their full potential.

Whether you agree with or not kid is not happy. For the most part with this generation, if the kids aren't fully on board, then you aren't going to get a good effort from them. I say we wish him well, and help him find a new place with a smile on our face.

Trust me, recruits watch how fans treat players on social media and fan boards. If we bash players for leaving consistently, it will damage the University much more then it helps.

Mitchell was serviceable but not a difference maker. He will only be missed because of the team he played for. Hopefully we can find an upgrade at his position and all others on the defense.

Very few quotes to judge a person by, especially in an article written by that paper and author. People leave situations they are not happy in all the time, not just this latest generation. Have any of you ever left a job you didn’t like? The adult coaches do it all the time.

True and he has not bashed anyone either, he is simply saying he wants to leave Lafayette. I don't see the need to bash the kid, we have no idea what is going on in his head, we have all been there... I get that the coaches want to meet with him before he makes a rash decision, but as CE noted if he speaking to the media about it, we should just cut our loses.

I think it would be fair to both parties if Mitchell meets with new coaches and hears what they have to say. At that time if he is dead set on leaving give him his release and let him go.
