I think in the first half it was a combination of good defense and a putrid Appy State team. That was as bad a half I've seen by any team in a long time. I was sitting there, looking at those warm up tops with the big yellow "A" on them, thinking they sucked so bad, Appy should have put in this guy...
Final attendance was 4300+ (don't remember exact number).
I was thinking we should probably run through the conference this year but it’s gonna be real tough with Gant out for an extended period of time. Hopefully we continue with our unselfish team play. Time for everyone to step it up. Looking forward to Saturday
Can not say enough about how much better the game might experience is in the CajunDome. It’s a first class environment, all the way around. When we start getting some name teams in our building, look out..
Two beers. And I can hold my alcohol.
We gave them nothing on the perimeter. Nothing. Yes, they played an awful game. Dad and I said the same thing: how in the hell did this team beat Arlington? Is Arlington that good to begin with?
Who thought these guys would locks to win after finding out Gant was out? Furthermore, who thought they’d win by 30-plus, much less lead by 30 at halftime? It wasn’t just a bad game by App. UL had something to do with that.

I am a longtime grad student at UTA and from the area. It seems to me like the Sunbelt is intentionally overrating UTA's basketball teams maybe to help keep them in the conference. Since they do not have a football team, any athletics emphasis is basketball and the professional quality College Park Center Arena. UTA Men's loss to Texas State in the Sunbelt tournament last year knocked some of the luster off of the program. I think a lot of teams would like coach Scott Cross who is a solid guy and is surely only there because he is an UTA Alum. They went to the NIT last year and hosted and won a couple of games similar to what Texas State did in the CIT. I think with the size of the school (now over 40,000) and facilities and location they may be attractive to CUSA or AAC if one those conferences loses a member at some point.
