Look to the west Coach Napier, Texas is loaded with talent this year. We can find every recruit we need between Acadiana and the Houston Metro Area.
The problem with the remaining talent left in the state is graded. I’m sure the higher rated recruits are still in the board because they may not qualify.
Any chance this qb (wilkins) from ASU transfers here? Graduated and could play immediately
There is no way he is better than Wilkins and I doubt he is even equal to him. Wilkins was a 4 star athlete out of HS with offers from Arizona State, Arizona, Colorado State, Utah State and Wyoming. Jordan was a 3 Star athlete out of HS with offers from UL and La Tech. Wilkins had interest from such schools as Michigan, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon, Oregon State, Utah and Washington. Davis had interest from outside of La Tech and UL with North Texas.
I like Jordan Davis and I think he is the best QB on our roster right now, but personally Wilkins would be a huge upgrade at that position if he came to UL. Look at his stats from ASU:
432 - 681 29 TD's and 14 INT's, last year was even better as he was
236 - 370 17 TD's and only 5 INT's.
He was considered the Number 13 ranked dual threat qb in the country by ESPN and the Number 14 qb in the nation by Scout. Rivals had him as the #20 qb in the country. So between all of these scouting services he was ranked in the Top 20 qb's in the country his senior year in HS.
Yeah, I was fortunate to meet Manny and Mike Norvel at the team hotel in Houston when they played Texas A&M back in 2015. Co-workers son was the wide out. Nothing but compliments for Manny. First class kid. Would love for him to become a Cajun.
I would still like J. Davis to finally have one last shot at winning the QB job. He has waited patiently and been jerked around by an offensively inept head coach. I would love to see what the new coach can do with him.
