Why does Napier keep talking about only needing to sign 18 guys?

In a previously perfect system 18 annual signees will keep your system flawlessly fully stocked.

This system requires all but 1 red shirts.

In my opinion you can't hit the ground running with "the perfect" system.

I understand what Coach Napier said about not getting to meet any recruits to early sign them, and it makes sense. The back of my mind was hoping for maybe one or two surprises.

I totally agree with him. That’s why I wanted a much earlier decision on Hud. The conflict. We don’t get Napier with an earlier firing of Hud, yet I believe we’ve actually gotten the best hire of 2017/18 football coaches.

So why does he so many offers but didnt sign?
He went to oregon, tex am and in his 3rd yr went to a two yr college? Does not compute...

......I don't know how many they might have gone on that were committed, but really have checked the opinions on exit interview....more importantly asking the coaches staying.....also begging for some to wait until the latter signing date!!! "Hey coach BTW will you be staying"? Crazy situation!!!

I think one of the reasons he said he would only sign 18 would be because he thinks he may be able to land a couple graduate transfers from ASU and maybe the rest will be surprise Juco players
