Thread: Best seat in the house

  1. Louisiana Campus Best seat in the house

No the picture is not of some new incandescent lighting at the swamp. I was leaving practice on Wednesday and noticed a backhoe digging on the levee.

I took a picture of the Dreamscape Paving truck, because they are donating a really great idea. The best seat in the house. When it is done it will be called the "Dreamscape Paving, Percy Guidry, KATC Victory View Terrace" or something like that. Actually I don't know the final name, I just think thev idea is great, it's very generous and will be very nice.

If my vision of what they are doing is correct I hope the University buys some more in the future.

That would be great place to stick Ragin Dave and I instead of escorting us to the parking lot before halftime....
    Just a thought.

I think more improvements have been made to Cajun Field in the last year or so than in the previous 30. This is really cool, and Cajun Field still has sooooo much potential. I would really like to go out and help with something like we did with the painting last year.

The Levee Terrace Seating Project could be a winner for UL. I don't believe they would have any problem selling them. In fact I would go as far as saying they could not install enough of them. They would sell like HOT BOUDIN AND CRACKLINS.

I'm sure a win would have made the experience more enjoyable, but what was it like?

Aside for the normal lack of view that any far endzone seat provides, and the counterbalancing excellent view of the near endzone, seems like the personal cubby hole feel would be awesome.

Would you be in favor of having several more of these levee island fan decks?

The view was not bad overall. If the teams were on that end of the stadium it was actually pretty good. When they (the teams) were on the opposite end I had to rely on the replay screen. The patio furniture was all very comfortable and the patio design was great. One suggestion I have and not sure how easy/hard it would be to do is that there is no way to control people coming in and out of that area. This was not a major problem but if the crowd had been bigger I could see it becoming a problem especially if you have paid to sit in this area.

Despite the cold weather and the outcome of the game, my family and friends had a great time and were very well treated by KATC and Keith Guidry (Guidry Hearth and Patio).

I think it would be a great idea to add more of these spots IF a) the cost is not very high or b) everything would be donated. I say this because I hope that one day there will be the need to have actual seats in the endzones and I would hate to see a lot of money poured into something that will not be around a very long time.
