Southeastern was 64th in total defense, 74th in Red Zone defense, and 46th in yards per play allowed last season. They were better than that in 2014 and 2015 on defense, but have been trending down since then.

After two straight playoff appearances, Southeastern has gone 4-7, 7-4, and 6-5 over the last three seasons.

Roberts hired Dave Arranda as co-DC in his first year as head coach at Delta State in 2007. Arranda left after one season.

Also developed 2 coaches who are now on Alabama's staff...but he is trending down.

Tech hired Baker, he was a LB coach and was promoted to DC after Diaz left. So UL hires a HC and he is trending down? LOL!!!

I didn’t even say what I think about the hire. I just gave a few high level facts with no spin, just in case people only remembered Southeastern’s near upset of the Cajuns to start the season. Why would anyone take what I posted as negative?

Any ideas on Roberts' recruiting expertise? I am happy with the hire, I think he will scheme well and coach up players. Just wondering what he brings to the table in recruiting ?

Did not know anything about Roberts but getting a 1aa HC as a DC says a lot. Anyone surprised it isn’t Rebowe instead of Roberts?

I am not as football people tell me that Tim is not cut out to be a coordinator. He is a better HC than he would be as a coordinator.
