As for the mantra that we are all in this together, I'm respectful in most cases. If any program, or their fans uses the correct name for our athletics, I will respectfully reciprocate. Otherwise it's State, LA Tech, McNeese State, etc.
Trust me, T, I knew there was no malice on your end. Where we disagree is in your last paragraph. Regardless of what a fan base calls Louisiana: ULL, UL-Laf, Louisiana-Lafayette, U-LaLa & etc. I will always respond with their suggested/requested name or brand. I used to be in that boat of intentionally name calling but it got old and did us no favors in the end. Take the high road and it will slowly move in your favor.

Over the last few months I've acted this way and it feels refreshing. No more LTUR, no more ULMost, no more F?U & no more State. It's time we act like we've been here before. It's time we act the part. It's time we act better than those who want us to fail.

Again, I am not trying to single you out in this matter. This is more a statement to the Cajun Nation (not Cajun Nation on here).

Agreed. Not sure why this is taking so long. We are way behind in recruiting and need to catch up fast. I heard today there were only two FBS teams who did not have recruits sign today. Us and UTEP.

Only because Napier chose not too. If he wasn’t comfortable signing our commits then I’m glad he didn’t. If we only have 16 for February and one is going to a punter, we don’t have many misses available. Let them go get the guys they want, the foundation will be built on this core.

Some of the staff might still be coaching on the first.

Have a feeling that and early signing coaches don't want to leave their current employer in a bind

Heard that for years my friend, I simply don't engage other fans site much anymore.Frankly, I just don't give a damn. I fought the name battle with Cajun Redzone for 9 years, so I know a little about it. In general, I'm not one that beats people over the head about it unless the circumstances I mentioned before arise. You want to fix the branding concern, WIN! We are in a better place today when it comes to strategic planning and leadership.

Its always UL-Monroe or Monroe for me. I will always put the hyphen in there as well.

Act the part to whom? Our university is very accommodating in regards to what they call other schools and reference points. If you are talking about fans I don't interact with many fans outside of Cajun fans so I don't really have any examples to set and i don't visit other schools message boards. While I do think the name thing is overplayed and sometimes just exhausting the only people I see making a deal of it are media and other schools.
