I stand corrected. He brought Malzahn to Tulsa and then at Rice they were running the same offense. Good catch.

I don't drink and I don't know things. Hmmmm, coincidence?

    Ditteaux. We're doing life wrong.

It's been my dream for this program to become a launching pad for coaches. I want to be hiring new coaches all the time here, because they're successful.

Hell, I'm thrilled Saban came to this program to find his next assistant. That's stellar.

I'm sure we'll find a more than capable DC. Not worried about this at all.

Napier is hiring good coaches. If not, why would Saban be interested? Would you feel better if he went to Nicholls? Looks like Saban trusts Napier so much he let him do his vetting and then offered Scott something he thought was better for him. It is part of the game. I think other programs will be calling on our assistants at the end of next year. We will see.

Grahams OC's over the years have all become head coaches. Major Applewhite, Gus Malzhan, Chad Morris, Mike Norvel and now Napier.

. "Baker, our current DC that ULL has supposedly offered its DC job to, fields defenses that are good against the run, but they struggle to put any pressure on the QB. Good QB's have been able to pick us apart. Another huge problem we've had is that we haven't been able to recruit a single decent linebacker since Baker took over from Manny Diaz" ... more from the LTUR

Losing a coach before he coaches is not good, no matter how you spin it. It is a good reflection on Napier’s vetting, but it is a poor reflection on the state of our program. Whoever takes this DC position will probably look like an idiot for a year or two. This is a major rebuild on that side of the ball. I think Scott made a good career move here.

There may be a cutoff point where an existing DC would tell Nick Saban to get lost, but I don't know where that cutoff point would lay.

No spin, this is not a knock on UL, a lot of P5 DCs would make the lateral move.
