One of my favs from the Neckster who's always over at the Belt forum tea bagging members there:

"As usual, ULL is trying to make a statement within our state that THEY are the #2 university in Louisiana. They try to position themselves to appear to be the flagship of the UL System in everything they do. Trust me, hiring our DC would be viewed as a huge coup by the idiot Cajun faithful, and those ___-hats will borrow, beg, or steal if necessary in order to pull it off. This being said, I think Baker is average at best, and losing him would be no great loss. The question, I think, is whether or not we believe defending our turf against ULL's corrupt administration is worth bothering with. Look what ULL did to defend theirs when Tulane tried to lure Hudspeth away from ULL. They raised the guys salary and he promptly led their program to ____sville."

They seem convinced that the $2MM pool for assistant coaches is BS.

"That $2M crap was all hype."

"Looks like all of their hires with the exception of the HC and maybe Jaluke were coaches that would only command a mediocre G5 salary at best, and they were not coaches that were on a lot of peoples short list either. USLL late start meant the pickings were going to be slim anyway although they may have made an improvement in the quality level of their people, not sure how much they improved their coaching talent though. And if they spent $2M on on what they have now, I am afraid they have not figured out that it is time to stop digging, the hole is deep enough!"

And they don't realize the amount of off field support staff that has been hired. The depth of this staff is outstanding.

What they're doing is called "whistling as they walk past Pines Memorial Gardens".

Why should we care what LaTech thinks, let build our staff, get the best recruits we can and show everyone on the field what kind of university we are. It may take a year or two but We are Louisiana and they will be saying our name.

I care becaue I have a dark side that enjoys watching pompous arse elitists suddenly realize that they've hit the end of the line and will soon be eating our dust.

Yet, the biggest fabricators of the truth has been the Tech administration that has continued to milk the state system for money while UL has used less with a larger student population. They have begged, borrowed and manipulated their budget reports while UL has continued to raise large amounts of funds privately. This is the same group of clowns that couldn't raise enough money privately in five years to build their new Endzone Facility and had to ask the UL System Board to allow them to access a student facility fee to finally move the project forward.

With their tradition and former athletes like Bradshaw, Malone, Roof and big money Davison, they still cannot raise the kind of money UL has in recent years. They are the biggest bunch of blowhards in the state of Louisiana.

Is that why one of them got poached by Alabama before he coached a game here?
