Look, I'm glad we are taking football seriously. I just think we are in the same gaggle of universities as Tech with similar budgets, challenges and undesirable media markets. My hope is that we become one of the premier G5 schools in the south and can start competing with a Memphis, Houston or Central Fla, but their big city footprints will make it tough to push ahead of them (ceiling).

Undesirable media markets like Starkville Mississippi, Pullman Washington, Athens Georgia, Etc? Why does everybody keep acting like Market size is the end-all-be-all of college football?

Many of these schools have historically had statewide following. Some are part of power conferences. For the rest trying to establish a strong local following in a major market can be helpful. Memphis, Orlando, Houston ( historically SWC) can be important.

I didn't even say what I think about the hire. I just gave a few high level facts with no spin, just in case people only remembered Southeastern's near upset of the Cajuns to start the season. Why would anyone take what I posted as negative?

Because for the most part, Tech fans are all pompous priques.
