I was going to say that Napier would have gone for two, however, had he been coaching, he'd probably not need the two pointer to win.
Cajuns kicker missing two extra points in that game was a huge factor. Can't blame those on the coach.

Relying on turnovers to be “stops” is not a gameplan. It’s a wish.

Turnovers are a by product of good defenses and even if you don’t force many turnovers, a good defense doesn’t need them. They are nice little bonuses.

I want to line up and move people. I want to have confidence that our defense can put doubt into the minds of opposing OCs and QBs.

Exactly! Turnovers (or lack of turnovers on offense) are a result, not a plan. They are a result of good talent, developed correctly, and organized into an effective game plan focused on winning the game. If you are missing those three things and hoping “winning the turnover battle” will save you, you don’t have a strategy, you have a wish.

It seems turnovers actually cohabit great defenses.
    They are a byproduct...nothing more.

Could David Johnson from Memphis be our new WR coach he did turn down LSU last year but who knows

I was thinking the same thing. If Napier would pull that off it would be HUGE!

Not having to spend a bunch on Toney and Desormeaux will hopefully help when filling out rest of staff.

Also if we are following twitter Lionel Stokes would be a great addition to the staff had a few classes with the guy and he was brilliant and loved the university

A couple other random follows from twitter make me wonder if Demarco McNeil an analyst from South Carolina and Jeremy Springer an analyst from A&M may not be options to fill in on staff.

Can't find much on Springer except that he worked with special teams. McNeil was the DL coach at Jackson State for 3 years before going to South Carolina. He played at Auburn.

I try to keep my eyes on random follows. Its what made me think Scott and Toney were going to be hired.
