If his last job had been at SLU and they were seventh in the country in total defense, you might feel a bit better.
I like the resume as far as the stops he’s made, but I’m not thrilled about his DC experience and again, TTU has been atrocious in the secondary.

I wouldn’t go to Enron for financial advice...

I think that the fact that Coach Napier likes what he sees in this Coach is enough for me....I wasn't hired as Head Coach and it's up to him to put together a great staff. From what I was told this afternoon about this man I am fine with this hire. If Napier didn't think he could handle the job he would not have offered it.

More than ticked pink. I will be ticked pink if the give up 30. That would be a phenomenal improvement.

If we do this, we'll win 7 easily in 2018. If we can beat stAte, we're in the championship game. (Remember: Troy and App are on the other side.)

How many of you would like Dave Aranda as DC? I ask because in his first job as a DC at the FBS level, he didn't get his team over 70 in total defense. Another interesting fact between Aranda and Scott is that both have coached for Ron Roberts at some point in their career. There are a ton of good OC and DC's that have been apart of bad offenses and defenses so it is hard to judge based off of one career stop. You have to look at their career as a whole. What we do know about Scott is that he is a great recruiter and he did a damn good job as a DC at a lower level.

Will Scott be Aranda? If he would be I'd do back flips but if he can only make our defense create more opportunities for our offense we will be in good shape.

I will be happy if third and 13 becomes a difficult situation against our defense. Lord knows it hasn't been.

So true, that while this should be funny, it isn't. We made some weak offenses look stout.

Yes to this! Go and look at our stats for 2017. They are atrocious across the board. How about giving up 5.3 yards per rush attempt! The good news is that it is almost impossible to be worse, so the new DC should be able to point to improvement.

We played App on the road this year. We go there two years in a row?

Yes. With Idaho and NMSU leaving, the schedule gets blown up and starts anew this year.
