Their shooting stats were awesome. FG 54.7%, 3PT, 52.9%, FT 80.0%
First game I was able to attend tonight.
Gant is a flat out beast
And Bartley was really good in the second half. 0 points at halftime and 19 after the break.
Stroman makes a HUGE difference.
It is also worth pointing out that UNO has played top competition this year: Memphis, St. John’s, Oakland, SMU, and Houston. Our margin of victory tonight was larger than any of those teams.
I don’t usually put much stock in these types of statistics, but I think it gives you a good idea of what level we’re playing at this year.
This was another impressive win.
UNO is a team that you can rattle easy. 22 is good but he should had been teed up at least once. Can’t control his emotions. I wish I was a student, I’d smack talk him about Sally Struthers not sending his family food.
We have a rough 3 road game stretch coming, Clemson and the Arkansas tour to open conference.
I was really impressed with how methodical we were. Their length gave us some problems but we grinded it out and next thing you know it’s a 20 point lead. Everyone contributed and it was a fun game to watch. Good job boys
PS...uno coach is still a turd. Smack talking fans down by 14 lol
Regarding Stroman, for those who have not seen him play, he is a pass first point guard. Coach said we were sixth in the nation in assists going into the game. Tonight we had 21 on 29 baskets and we should have had more but a couple of plays near the basket were not finished. That may move us up on the national lists. That indicates our guys share the basketball and play with the team first in mind. Hopefully they continue to do this which will encourage more people to attend. Christmas time is difficult for some to go which is understandable. I also know if there is one bad performance the people thinking about going will not do so and those who went for the first time won't go back for awhile. That will also cause criticism of the coaching staff. Of course the inconsistent play in season's past is somewhat responsible and that is the nature of today's fans due to all the alternatives for the entertainment dollar.
This is a pretty good basketball team. They deserve some support. I’m hoping attendance starts to build after the new year.
