Thread: Meanwhile, Cajuns have the best basketball team in LA

You simply shouldn’t list a stat such as 26/8 and say that team deserves or doesn’t deserve anything. All depends on how good were your wins and loses.

Tomorrow? If we’re within 7 with four minutes to go I’d generally consider that a competitive game regardless of the final score. Again how we played and how Clemson played with determine a lot about this team.

Considering the SBC and how the teams did and did compete, I’d expect no more than four loses to be acceptable. Frankly two or three more in line with my expectations of the assembled talent. My biggest concerns injury to Stroman, and his propensity to get avoidable fouls. But I really cannot bash that because he’s aggressively challenging the ball handlers.

I agree, but he should wait until they are getting close to shooting range to get physical.

I will agree that between 07-08 and 12-13 our RPI was not very good, but over the last 5, we should be a team, based on your model, that other quality RPI teams (Top 150, would want to play).
You just agreed with me. I was using "above" in the sense of "better". Sorry for the confusion.

I see that Nolan has adjusted his conference prediction to 15-3 and tied for second. Mine remains 12-6 and 4th

Tomorrow is a dice roll. On paper, we should get drilled on the road. It all depends on the intangible which team is looking forward to the break the most and lack of focus.

I'm waiting on seeing how the road trip with two of the bottom 3 RPI SBC teams go. Best take care of business.

We win out. I said it first. We storm through the SBC tournament. We get votes in the top 25 and we’re a 10 seed in the NCAAs. We actually win in a slugfest in the opening round... crush it in the second. We take the Sweet Sixteen... but unfortunately lose due to bias officiating in the Elite Eight. Celebration party in the Cajun Dome.

What? You can predict 12-6 or 14-4... and I can’t participate?

If we are the basketball team in Louisiana just shows how bad basketball in Louisiana is.

LSU is likely the best team in the state as they just got one of their better players back after missing a few games to injury. Tulane is much improved but they struggled against Nicholls more than we did. We probably are the 2nd best team despite yesterday's embarrassment.

Until LSU A & M is willing to risk playing us or any Louisiana teams on the road they’re officially not a candidate.
