The only negative was last night was La Tech lost to WKU, They lost by 1 point.

This weekend we have a number of games to keep an eye on:

    Ole Miss vs South Carolina--Sunday
Savannah State @ Michigan State on Sunday
Iowa vs Northern Illinois--tonight, Iowa tries to make it 5 in a row, they are starting to help us as their RPI is up to 153.
    Richmond vs Davidson--Saturday
    UNO vs Houston Baptist--Saturday
    McNeese vs NwSt--Saturday
    Nicholls vs Incarnate Word--Saturday
    SLU @ Central Arkansas--Saturday
Sorry Dave, it is never a negative when LaTech loses!

They basically make a full lineup/6th man if they would have all gone to the same school. Would be fun for that type of thing to one day happen at UL.

According to 247/Scout, the order is:
    1. Smart
    2. Butler
    3. Leblanc
    4. Williams
    5. Julien
    6. Gladney
    We got Gladney and Julien

I get where y'all are coming from with Tech hate. But I come from the generation where basketball wise my despise for WKU is pretty strong as well.

First of all, all you guys who endorse the 3 days in March mantra always make it sound like the two scenarios are exclusive of one another. You can win the conference outright, position yourself as best you can in the tourney and win that too. It doesn't have to be one or the other. However, to build a program, you need to start by winning conference. Losing in the first round of the NCAA tourney does very little to build your program. It's also a much more significant accomplishment. being the best team in your conference over an 18 game or 20 game schedule is much more difficult than winning 3 games in the tourney. That mindset that the NCAA is our only goal is a joke and I think the current staff and AD are starting to look at winning conference outright much more seriously now.

Again, winning conference regular season and the conference tourney don't have to be exclusive of one another. But I'd take the 3 NIT's over the one NCAA at this point. It would mean we won our conference out right and we are building something. There are teams that make the NCAA with losing records and that will happen again this year more than likely. Getting your ticket to the big dance doesn't actually always show the accomplishments of the regular season. To me its kind of like going to a bowl game with 6 wins.

I’d take either tournament that starts with an N (NC being some arguable benefit over the NI). What we’re trying to do is not have to decide if one of the C tournaments is worth our money every year. But I agree with Zephyr. Everything, not just the few days in March, are complimentary goals.

That 3 games in March nonsense was started by Jay Walker, and parroted by others. Marlin never said that. And y'all know how I feel about Bobby Big Fish.

And even the 3 games in March is used only in regards to getting an NCAA bid.
