If I were a tech fan I would Laugh at this as well. But I would laugh nervously. On the surface your objections have some merit but don’t pass the overall small test.

LA is paying over 1m to a coach that isn’t here anymore. another 1.2-1.5 to a new HC, and 2m annually to assistants. That is a staggering invensment. We all know money drives college football and LA has jumped into the fray with both feet.

LTU can now run with the “doing more with less” mantra. We aren’t using it anymore and it free for the taking.

Enjoy your good laugh now. Possibly enjoy it next year as well while our D and o line get retooled. After that things will become less and less funny for you.

That may be true... but BLUdog’s opinion will still be irrelevant on RP in 3 years. It’s irrelevant today, and always will be.

That’s you proved my point lol, he is not at Bama or Clemson. It’s really easy to sell and recruit to those schools. He now has to sell Sunbelt to kids, a totally different ballgame than selling ACC or SEC, uncharted waters. I agree Hud time was done, hell I warned you guys back in 2014 about Hud. I do hope the new coach works out for you, but to say we are nervous, nawww. We are just fine, we just just picked up a 4 star commit. Reloading for the next couple years.

Well, you better enjoy it while you can because ole Skippy's recruiting competition just got a lot more challenging.

That’s what y’all call a 6/6 team. Reloading? If y’all get back to the team y’all were at your peak it’d be rebuilding not reloading. Reloading projects you were truly outstanding without a significant downturn. Y’all were a very good G5 team, not an elite one, and yes this year was a major drop in performance.

Tech fans are like liberal democrats. Criticize, reject, obstruct and do nothing else while constructive progress passed them by. Watch where new leadership will take Louisiana, our President, AD and HC!

Based on what I'm reading on this guy, if he has even moderate success at UL he will be moving on in two years.

I hope you are right. When he goes on to be a head coach at a P5 school, that will be an accomplishment - and we will have been successful over his time here. AND - Dr. Maggard gets to make the next pick!

Considering that we've never had a head football coach move on to greener pastures, I'd call that success.

In hindsight, it is really hard to believe 4 9-4 seasons didnt get Hud scooped up. I realize Tulane came after him in year 1 but after that he wasnt on the radar. Perhaps he needed a better agent

Id say since HUD went to Miss St as a position coach and Associate Head coach that's a pretty good jump. Salary isn't everything

Perhaps people that really know how to evaluate head coaches saw what we couldn’t.
