I do hope the new coach works out for you, but to say we are nervous, nawww. We are just fine, we just just picked up a 4 star commit. Reloading for the next couple years.
That’s what y’all call a 6/6 team. Reloading? If y’all get back to the team y’all were at your peak it’d be rebuilding not reloading. Reloading projects you were truly outstanding without a significant downturn. Y’all were a very good G5 team, not an elite one, and yes this year was a major drop in performance.

Tech fans are like liberal democrats. Criticize, reject, obstruct and do nothing else while constructive progress passed them by. Watch where new leadership will take Louisiana, our President, AD and HC!

Based on what I'm reading on this guy, if he has even moderate success at UL he will be moving on in two years.

I hope you are right. When he goes on to be a head coach at a P5 school, that will be an accomplishment - and we will have been successful over his time here. AND - Dr. Maggard gets to make the next pick!

Considering that we've never had a head football coach move on to greener pastures, I'd call that success.

In hindsight, it is really hard to believe 4 9-4 seasons didnt get Hud scooped up. I realize Tulane came after him in year 1 but after that he wasnt on the radar. Perhaps he needed a better agent

Id say since HUD went to Miss St as a position coach and Associate Head coach that's a pretty good jump. Salary isn't everything

Perhaps people that really know how to evaluate head coaches saw what we couldn’t.

I think the success he brought allowed us to take the next step. His 9-4 seasons proved you could win here. But I think the answer to your question is likely he didn’t have the signature big time win over a big time school to get put on the map.

He had chances at Tulsa and such but didn't pursue them
