Thread: RIP California Cajun

Another gut punch. A fine man, always gracious in our chats. I never got to meet him in person, which is unfortunate. RIP Cali.

I never knew John (Cali) personally, only knew him through what I saw and read on this message board and on the Scout site when T was running it. Seemed to be a very good person and certainly a "Great" Cajun fan. Condolences to his family and friends! This news is especially sad at this time of the year and just prior to the biggest hire in Cajun history being made! Rest In Peace John!

This is a real bummer, always was one of the cooler heads here and back on the old delphi board. My prayers are with his family right now, never easy to lose someone you care about.

I am so sad to hear of John's passing. He was my age and we became friends over the years. RIP Cali.

He was a member of the now infamous Eauque Tree tailgating group, a huge fan of the Anaheim Angel's and the Cajuns, and a good, decent and honorable man.

There will be a memorial service at a date and place yet to be determined.

May our friend rest in peace.

    Geaux Cajuns and Go Angel's.
For those that didn't know John personally, he was as mild mannered a guy you would have ever met. He was always willing to consider others opinions and never liked conflict. I hadn't seen much of John the past few years, but he was as good as it gets when it comes to people.

    RIP John Ayers!

In his last post (12 hours prior) he was happy for Hud that he landed on his feet so soon.

Sorry to see you gone Cali, so soon.
    Turbine,

Can you make sure that no one can ever use California Cajun and Gator Grunt ever again? Both of these guys deserve to be honored here on RP. Thanks

Yes he was. There weren't many of us back in the day. Always liked John a lot but I hadn't seen him in a number of years. Don't think he had a cross word for anyone.

    RIP CC

Maybe even a memorial section where we recognize former members who have passed away... Like Link Silar... but I forget his handle...
