He came in with class and is going out with class. I'm truly disappointed that he was unable to maintain and continue the early success he had here at UL.

Best of luck to Coach Hud and his family in whatever direction the next chapter in their lives takes them.

That is very classy. I would imagine he has 1.5 million reasons to remain positive in this situation.

    $1.5, plus an annuity.

Very classy statement. Thank you Coach Hud for the many great memories and all the facility improvements! I always loved how you promoted the entire UL athletic programs and the University as a whole. That was awesome and helped connect the entire university & alumni! Best wishes for you & your family as you move forward. God bless y'all!

  5. UL Football Hudspeth sends thank-you letter to Lafayette"

Hudspeth, who took the Ragin’ Cajuns to five New Orleans Bowls and won four of them, first thank UL President Joseph Savoie and former athletic directors Scott Farmer and David Walker “for giving me this opportunity.”

No mention of any area outside of Lafayette city limits.

    Explains the fence failure.

I have to hand it to Hud... he's taking this with pure class. I know we paid him well... but he gets paid no matter what he says. I am extremely thankful for what he did when he got here. He was what we needed at that time. That first New Orleans Bowl was fantastic. I envy college football coaches in many ways... and I don't envy them in many ways. They know what they're getting into. But I feel especially bad for their family members when times get tough. Talk about a roller coaster lifestyle.

Good luck Hud! You took us places we've never been. For that we cannot thank you enough. The rope frayed... and I'm afraid the damage was too much. College football... what can you say?

All the best to you and your family, and all of the former staff.

If I were a coach I would never acknowledge this site... positively or negatively. If I were an AD, I'd read it religiously... anonymously.
