sometimes I think we need to look past numbers. Its tough at times but a guy like Nussmaier may be a better fit as the head coach than coordinator. Its all about finding the best fit.

The only talent on that offense that is superior in the SEC is Guice, and he sat for lots of that 7 game stretch.

Not a narrative. All of that was being reported in real time, and addressed by Orgeron following that game.

With no decent QB and offensive line injuries, I think the rankings are reflective of the Talent available. Canada recruited the freshman, not the starting QB. Their QB of the future played little because he is a true freshman and that is part of their disagreement. As many as 3 true freshmen played on the OL at times this season because of injuries. Those facts don't change Canada's resume anymore than the problems at Florida were similar for Nussmeier this season. Both have outstanding resumes, not saying either are a fit here in Louisiana.

Butthurt and concern on the part of a Wave fan:

"The rumor on the street is that the job was offered to Landon Hoefer but there is some question of whether he wants to move to Lafayette. This would be a good move for UL-Laf and would cement their reputation. Hoefer will be a real asset in their continued re-branding campaign if he can be enticed to move to Lafayette. This hire would also, possibly, expand the fan base outside of Lafayette all the way to the Lake Charles area. Hoefer is a proven asset at building offenses and would be expected to get Laffy back into the middle of the SBC pack within a couple of years. Another plus is that Hoefer has a lot of goodwill in his current job and could probably guarantee a home/home series with the Cowboys which would be a big thing for Laffy."

They are a perennial bottom feeder across all sports in their conference. Not much hope down in NOLA Zero fan support & Zero Alumni support Zero support of their own city

What is he talking about? We've been stuck in the "middle" of the damned SBC which is partly why the coaching move was made in the first place. We expect to be at the top of the SBC soon is what he should have said. If this coach will only get us to the middle, keep him. Also, I don't see LC being number 1 on anybody's move-to list. Why would we go after McNeese's OC? I think if we hire someone from there it would be the HC.

The guy was trying to be funny but failed miserably. Tulane should not make fun of McNeese coaches. Their great basketball team lost at home to McNeese last season. Granted the Green Wave basketball team is much improved this season.
