Even with the last 3 years you know what is being said about UL? "What in Hel-l is going on down there?" "What are they waiting for?" I know that we struck a real blow hiring the consultant Mike Alden. That showed the powers that be the the school with "enormous potential" may finally be waking up.....

Sure we need to develop talent, but it's been so poorly done at UL for the past 6 years, we will accept App State level, and I want us to reach higher.
    One word..... Consistency.

When Robe walked in to interview here, he walked in with this pitch: Here's what I need you to provide me with for us to win the National Championship.

The goal of this program should be a New Year's Six bowl in 2 years.

Stop telling me it can't be done. This has happened more than once, y'all.

    Why not here?

And if we come close and fall short? Y'all alright with a 10 win season in year 3 or 4? The reason softball and baseball compete on a national level is because they have coaches who are capable and have vision. Still the case with the new hire in softball, passing the baton. Listen to the way they talk. We're competing for a national championship.

They'll never let us into the playoff. But make them tell you no to the New Year's Six at 13-0 or 12-1 (with the new SBC championship).

Stop telling me it can't be done. Somebody out there is the next PJ Fleck (4 years, Cotton Bowl Western Michigan 13-0), Scott Frost (2 years, Peach Bowl 13-0 UCF), Kyle Whittingham (4 years, Utah, 13-0 WON Sugar Bowl over Alabama)

Stop telling me how painstaking a process it is. find the next PJ Fleck, Scott Frost, or Kyle Whittingham and let's make this program what it's capable of becoming.
    Amen brother....why not us....

The only thing stopping us is we have way too many people associated with this program who would react to your post with a list of why NOT. It's embarrassing. Freaking Boise State became a national power, but somehow it's just not possible for us. Give me a damn break. It will happen as soon as we stop making up reasons it can't.

And it has nothing to do with the press box

Was the above thought in regards to firing of Hud or announcement of a new head coach?

Humm? Optimism all over the board. I’m in also, but why’d we cave to a bad contract to begin with? If Hud had left under a better circumstance shouldn’t we have felt even more optimistic?

We should always give our coach a great contract, but recognize he’s not worth an unfair contract.
