Saw Buckley's ridiculous "updated possible coaches list". Any list with Joe DeForest as a legit candidate is complete garbage. But he left out Sumlin, which gave me a chuckle.
Really haven't heard Sumlin's named tied in to the UL job anywhere except here.

Would certainly be a splash hire.

    Was on r/CFB yesterday.

    I'll say this as well.
I think the longer it goes, the more likely Maggard has targeted someone coaching in a bowl game.
OR, Sumlin (or the bigger names we've been talking to) has been mulling over the idea of coaching UL, and is letting is other options (or lack their of) help him decide.

I also think the longer it goes on, these other FCS names, and guys sitting at home right now become less likely.

Where? Can't find it. I suck at internetting during snowstorms.

Along with guys coaching in bowls it could be FCS guys still in playoffs.

Also the more I hear the less likely I think it is someone like Pry or even a name that we have heard mentioned in the media.

Yes. I think 90% of the names we've seen in the national and local media have been totally wrong. I know Henson is legit, Pry has reached out to our Admin but not been interviewed, and Sumlin's agent has been contacted. I have pretty good reason to believe Brian Johnson is a legit candidate as well. These are facts.

I think the majority of the names being thrown around are agent's doing their jobs, and getting their clients name in the news.

But look, this thing is slam shut. I'm ALWAYS able to get SOMETHING, (or have been able to in the past). I'm getting very very little information, and all of it is 3rd hand. I'm trying my arse off too. I'm not saying I have better sources than media types, but I kinda do.. And they're not getting dikque either.

I hadn't considered that Maggard might have someone on the line who's coaching a bowl game and perhaps doesn't want to break it to the team until afterwards. Or, as someone else said, an FCS team in the playoffs. Losing a coach right before a bowl game or a playoff game has got to be tough on any team.

As for your "slam shut" comment, again, that speaks volumes of the professionalism of Maggard. It's frustrating with the lack of information, but I like it.

It seems like most of these guys jump ship before their bowl game. They want to get started recruiting right away. The recent exception that comes to mind is Herman staying at Ohio St to coach the playoffs before moving to UH.

But I, too, like how quiet it is.

Is there anyone we would be targeting that is NOT in a bowl game or FCS playoffs? I would hope not.
