I don't think a team down by 3 scores can afford to play "not to lose" that's what scared teams in the lead are known to do.

Downshifting the teams mentality to 2nd gear at that point is a momentum lock.

This team was in second gear at best from the opening kickoff. The body language on this team is, "I couldn't give less of a ____."

That is why I thought it was the incorrect decision. If the defense had given indications they could consistently stop the Eagles running game, his decision would have had more validity with me. We had trouble stopping SLU from running the ball in the first home game and it was an issue in the last home game. Regardless of who is coach that is a critical aspect which must show improvement in 2018 for the record to improve. No. 1 rule of football is stop the run.

This episode on the declined penalty is just a microcosm of this football program as whole.........caca.

🤣🤣 That rope is cut in pieces in the back of my pickup truck.

Don’t lose to Monroe, bowl eligible with 5 home games. Plain and simple.

Pray to based god Mississippi State does something dumb and hires HUD to replace Mullen. We have got to rid ourselves of this meathead

I dont see this decision as a bad one (vs not going for 2 vs ULM) We needed points,......if cant stop them on defense (& we didnt), any decision made had no tangible outcome on final. Either way we still lose.

If nothing else taking the penalty keeps the defense off the field.

Less opportunity for the opponent to score.
