Simple....they pore every dime of State money into their program that the law allows....

Bam! And they’ve never stopped pushing football... balls to the wall. Our fans cry about the oil industry being down. Tech doesn’t have an industry on their best day that’s above Lafayette when Lafayette is at its lowest. Never has. Their admin just refuses to suck at football. And that’s why they’re viewed as a decent university. Period.

A Georgia Southern writer thinks they win by 2 scores. I get you won by 52 last week, but isn’t that a little ambitious? I mean I can totally see it happening, but that’s a result of watching this team all year. The Eagles are 1-9. I don’t think you’re in a position to say you’re going to beat anyone by 2 scores.

But on that note, shouldn’t it be even more imperative that we start taking extreme measures? Being that we’re sooooo far behind the curve?

As you could see in my exchange with Stuck In The Mudspeth, too many of our “supporters” view this program as “just entertainment”. I’d like SITM and all the others that feel as he does to go and do a little research on the economies of these college towns. Before and after success. Go and see how many businesses and restaurants shut down when LeBron left Cleveland and when LeBron came back.

I’m sure Tampa and Orlando are fine towns. But their not college towns and look at the response they’re getting. Places like Lubbock, Tuscaloosa, Gainesville, Stillwater, Morgantown, Eugene... these are NOTHING towns that support major universities.
Pretty simple question...when will UL football become important? Relavent?

I feel much better about our chances after they won that way last week they blew their load and will have a emotionally charged let down

That last game was the biggest split from reality in football I've seen in a while. But it happened. It pretty much made our game today a complete mystery.

It appears to be the opposite. UL allocates twice as much public funds into athletics. Tech has far more private funds in their athletic budget to work with.

Per student they are virtually identical. 12,000 students, 20,000 students.

If accurate, around $380 spent on advertising

Tech is currently 5-6 praying for bowl eligibility today. They have one chance and that is beating UTSA today. I hope that is not what we aspire to.

The bottom line is Louisiana produces NFL talent at the highest rate per capita or near the highest. We have done a very poor job of attracting that type of talent to UL.

We have done an even worse job of showing the type of commitment needed to win. This community had a program to rally around for 3 seasons. Then we caved to ESPN3 game times and weeknight games. We need to create our identity and play under the lights 6 times a year on Saturdays.

All they need is one hot poker up their back side... and they'll come to understand how good we've had it.

You're right, if you think you have to wait until someone allows you to do it.
