We would have virtually no non conference home games if he did that. Stop hoping for that as it won't happen. RPI is not a big focus when they schedule as they have to play some state teams due to encouragement from the state education boards. The road - neutral court games are given some RPI consideration along with how much we can get paid for some games. Not saying that more emphasis on RPI should not be considered, just that it is not at this time. No one mentioned the two home games in this thread. They have nothing to do with what happened today other than building continuity without Stove. Focus is only on giving guys credit for a good effort today. Granted you can't celebrate long as I agree Wyoming is better than Iowa and we likely have to play better to be successful. 2nd half performance won't nearly cut it and the people in the program know that.

Mike, how much of that pressure is truly from the system Board, and how much is from Martin Hall? I ask this because of the non-SLC/SWAC members of the UL System, we play 6 system schools, ULM plays 4 and Tech plays only us. I can believe T-Joe is mandating this, but not the system Board, otherwise Tech and ULM would be playing more.

I can’t answer your question but I know UNO did not want to renew the series. University of Louisiana board just about had to force them to play so I presume that is the same situation. McNeese, Nicholls, and La Tech are continuation of series from last year.

If I were a betting man, I would bet that the pressure is from Martin Hall; the system Board probably only got involved because a president asked them to.

I've heard the same thing Mike is talking about in media outlets as the LA board of education has really put an emphasis on limiting travel costs and encouraging schools to play in state teams more as a result.

I do not know their schedule and I don't have to explain anything to you. Maybe they play teams in a geographically acceptable range that fits their travel budget. I don't know. What I'm telling you is that I've read and heard the same thing, possibly on Jay's show as well when he had Farmer on about the board's persistence in the school's scheduling state schools or schools close to them for travel costs.
