And the guys still got it done.

I'm stoked. Let's win the whole damn thing.

I think our best basketball is a month away as well.
If we can make it and beat Cincy oh my think of all those RPI points

That still would not get us an at large bid were we to lose two conference games or more.

Of course they lost to McNeese the next game that year so you have to be ready to play every night. Listened to post game show and Mike Murphy said we expected to win game which is right attitude. Also said goal is to win tournament and today is first step. We are all excited about the win but key to me was playing opponent on a neutral court. Despite it being apparent to many that we were the better team, I think we lose the game at their place. We would not have led by 20 at half on the road and when they made a run in 2nd half their crowd would have brought them all the way back. That is how important the home court is to those "name" teams. Hopefully we get more chances at the name schools in the future on neutral courts. Having said all that, once conference play starts the home court is not nearly as critical. Some of that is because teams are used to the venues they travel to and some is they get accustomed to the road in pre-conference. Also, teams are familiar with each other's strategies which leads to close games at that time. Let's see if they can follow up with another good performance tomorrow. Maybe Stove plays tomorrow and can be the spark for another win.

"One of the rims was of very poor quality. One was much too hard. The organizers of that tournament should consider investing in some quality control measures. There were too many in and out baskets in the first half to be coincidence. Iowa is clearly the better team, and Iowa will compete for championships this year, get into the NCAA tournament etc, if Iowa had Baer and this was in CHA Iowa would have routed that team."

    Uhhhh, okay.

    Right on the money.

People think a 12 or an 11 seed beating a 5 or a 6 is an upset. You have a very good non-major conference champion going up against a 4th or 5th place major conference school. In reality, you have 2 very evenly matched teams. The neutral court of the NCAA tourney reveals how even they are.

If those games were played at the major conference school's court, they would win 90% of those games.

Time to DRASTICALLY lower expectations. This is 2 games in a row where Iowa struggles with quick, athletic teams - Couldn't shake Grambling and getting their asses whipped by La-Laff!
(WTF is it with these obscure schools from Looweeseeanna??)

Iowa won’t win many games if they have 2 guards that EACH take more shots than ALL the 4/5s combined. That’s simply inexcusable against a team as small as ULL. ULL forced IA to play their game. Good job out of their coach.

We have Wyoming tomorrow. They beat Coastal to win the CBI last year and finished 24-15
