To be honest, I was concerned whether or not Lewis — no matter how exciting he is on the open field as a runner — was capable of winning a shootout against a high-flying New Mexico State offense.

As it turned out, Lewis didn't play a down.

Instead, Jordan Davis left some wondering why he was "benched" at all and/or why the red-shirt was lifted off Lewis to begin with.
